Testosterone Health and TRT Evaluation

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is a medical treatment for confirmed low testosterone. Decisions about TRT happen after careful evaluation, not from symptoms alone. Testosterone levels are interpreted in context. Clinicians review timing, repeat results, symptoms, medical history, medications, and other hormones before making care decisions.

Testing is more than one result

The Endocrine Society recommends diagnosing hypogonadism only when signs and symptoms are present with consistently low testosterone concentrations, and it recommends confirming results with repeat morning fasting total testosterone testing.

Related labs may matter

Depending on the case, clinicians may review free testosterone, SHBG, LH, FSH, prolactin, thyroid markers, blood counts, metabolic markers, or other tests to understand whether low values point to a primary or secondary cause.

What this page is not

WeightGain does not prescribe, sell, or distribute TRT. The waitlist is for updates and education only. Any clinical decision about TRT requires a separate evaluation with a licensed clinician under applicable law.

Hormone lab questions checklist

  1. What clinical question is this lab meant to answer?
  2. Does the test need morning timing, fasting, or repeat confirmation?
  3. Which related markers should be reviewed before deciding next steps?
  4. What would make the result urgent, uncertain, or worth repeating?
